Reducing Sleep Disorders in Pregnant Women with
Somatic Disorders in the Last Month of Pregnancy
When the time of parturition comes nearer many pregnant women complain more and more of sleep disorders, manifesting as problems with falling asleep, as well as too short and too shallow sleep.

The women had been sent to hospital because the fetuses were in danger due to rheumatism as well as heart, kidney and liver problems of the mothers. Except for the treatment with the Medical Resonance Therapy Music® the investigations and treatments were the same in both groups: the mothers took medical drugs and vitamins and performed special physiotherapeutic exercises.

The treatment with drugs, vitamins and special physiotherapeutic exercises were directed to the special somatic problems of the pregnants but their sleep disturbances were not treated.

Medical Resonance Therapy Music® Group

In addition to the conventional drug therapy 15 women listened after physiotherapeutic exercises for seven days one hour to relaxing music preparations of Medical Resonance Therapy Music® via cd-player and headphone.

Before starting with the treatment, the frequency of sleep disorders was 86%, after the conventional treatment and the additional application of the Medical Resonance Therapy Music® it was only 7%.
Control Group

This group of 10 patients received the same conventional drug treatment against the somatic disorders (no drugs for sleep were given) and performed the same program of physiotherapeutic exercises, but did not listen to MRT-Music®. Before the conventional treatment the frequency of sleep disorders was 50%, after the treatment it had gone up to 80%.
